Stamkos, the team’s captain, is still day-to-day with a lower-body injury and will ramp up his activity in practice when the Lightning arrive in Toronto, per coach Jon Cooper.
General manager Julien Brisebois said Hedman, meanwhile, is dealing with “a personal matter,” and will join the team with strength coach Mark Lambert on Friday.
Stamkos has been a limited participant in training camp after suffering the injury during Phase 2 skates, but is expected to play in the playoffs. The 30-year-old had 29 goals and 66 points in 57 games before suffering a core muscle injury earlier this year.
The Lightning open round-robin play before the playoffs with a game against the Washington Capitals on Aug. 3 in Toronto.
